Book Review: Felix Hart Returns With A Thirsty Romp Through The World Of Online Influencers

Black Odesa is the latest novel by British author Peter Stafford-Bow. It continues the larger-than-life adventures of Felix Hart, a wine-buyer for an upscale supermarket.

This is the fifth book in the series, and I've found each of them outrageously good. It combines insightful wine knowledge with wit and a highly entertaining storyline. It's irreverent, implausible, and irresistible.

In this latest installment, Felix's financial success triggers an investigation that leaves him without a job, with hardly a shilling to his name, and on the run from the police. In desperation, he turns to the dubious world of online influencers.

After pairing with the mysterious Russian, Katja, he becomes Buff Bacchus, famed for his risque posts. The pair becomes the hot internet couple, leading to a change in fortunes.

Accepting a spot on a luxury propaganda tour from the Crimean Tourist Board, they plunge through Georgia and Ukraine. Felix searches for the legendary Black Odesa sparkling wine while serreptitiously collecting cuttings of rare indigenous grapevines.

Action comes to a crescendo during a calamitous banquet, and in the aftermath, our hero must battle for his life.

The book is available through Amazon. If you enjoy wine and a good laugh, you'll enjoy each and every page.
