Wednesday, September 8
The Andersons, Sylvania, Wine Tasting. 6-8 PM. European Vacation: 1. Borgo Boschetto Pinot Grigio, 2. Gini “Novecento” Chianti Riserva, 3. Ribas de Cabrera Balears 2000, 4.  Bastgen Kestener Paulinshofberg Riesling Auslese. Nominal fee per sample or $9.50 per flight.

Charamba Red, 4.  Camparron Tempranillo, 5.  Vivir Vivir Ribero del Duero Tempranillo, 6. Covila Reserve 2001 Rioja,  7. Los Cantos Tempranillo, 8. Alvear 1927 Solera Sherry. Nominal fee per sample.

Corks Wine and Liquor, Promenade Plaza, 27250 Crossroads Pkwy., Rossford – (419) 872-6800. 6-9 PM. The Greatest Grape Vol. 2: Sangiovese. It's going to be extremely difficult to top last month's Syrah tasting, but this is at least going to come close. If you think Sangiovese is just the "Chianti grape", you are sorely mistaken. This promises to be a beast of a tasting. Nominal fee per sample.

Friday, September 10
Aficionado Wine and Cigars, The Shoppes at RiverPlace, 26567 N. Dixie Highway, Suite 135, Perrysburg, (419-873-4444). 5:00 – 8:30 p.m. Fat Barrel African Wines with special guest, Jim Krusinski from Vintner Select: 1.Fat Barrel Sauvignon Blanc, 2. Fat Barrel Steen (Chenin Blanc), 3. Fat Barrel Pinotage, 4. Fat Barrel Shiraz/Cab. $10 tasting.
