Tohu 2009 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Sometimes in Vegas you put your money on the table and take your chances. There wasn’t much money at stake, but it was a gamble nonetheless when Green Dragon picked up this bottle on clearance at The Andersons.

The odds were in her favor, however, since she is a great lover of Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region of New Zealand. This bottle cost a mere $8.99 but turned out to be a winner.

This wine has the grassy herbaceous aroma that is a hallmark of Marlborough Sauv Blanc. The flavor is bright and zingy with juicy acidity. It has lime and tropical fruit notes.

Green Dragon rated this a notch above one of her favorites, Starborough, but a notch below her benchmark Kim Crawford. It brought a big smile to her face and an “ahhh” of refreshment.
