Italian Wines, High End Tastings Are Featured At Area Wine Shops

Vino 100 Maumee’s Tuesday tasting will feature Italian wine, while the Beer & Wine Cave’s monthly Century Club tasting will allow connoisseurs the chance to sample a selected wine that sports a $100-plus price tag. 

Vino 100 Maumee, (419) 866-8466, Promenade West, 3355 Briarfield Blvd, Suite C, continues its series of Tuesday open house style tastings November 29, 6:00 to 9:00 PM, with a tasting of five Italian wines.  The cost is $10 and features light appetizers. Wines to be tasted include: 2007 Quattro Leoni, 2009 Listra Sangiovesse Blend, 2006 Villabella Ripasso, 2008 Vitiano Rosso, 2008 Dogajolo Super Tuscan.

Beer and Wine Cave, 4400 Heatherdowns, (419) 382-6221, offers Century Club tastings the first Friday of each month at 6:30 PM. It gives wine lovers a chance to sample a high-end bottle costing $100 or more which they might not typically have a chance to taste. The cost of the bottle is split evenly among those who come to the tasting.The featured bottle this month is Duckhorn Estate 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon.
