Bastille Day Celebration Slated July 14 at Walt Churchill’s Market in Maumee

Walt Churchill’s Market, 3320 Briarfield. Maumee, (419) 794-4000, has scheduled its 8th Annual Bastille Day Celebration. The event will take place Sunday, July 14, at 1:00 PM.

The celebration will feature a four-course gourmet wine lunch. Cost is $64.99 per person and prepaid reservations are required. The event, which will be held outside on the patio weather permitting, is limited to 28 persons.

Chef Toby Herman will be preparing the meal and Wine Manager Austin Beeman will be selecting the wines.

Here’s a glimpse of the tentative menu and wine pairings:

Aperitif - Clos de la Treille 2011 Bordeaux Sec

Salade: Apple Hazelnut Salad with Goat Cheese - Domaine des Valanges 2011 Macon-Prisse 'Le Clos'

Entrée: Bouillabaisse (Fish Soup of Provence) - Couly-Dutheil 2012 Chinon Rosé

Plat du Jour: Duck Provençal with Potato Gratin and Vegetable - Chateau Tour Bicheau 2009 Graves

Dessert: Brandied-Prune Ice Cream w/ Foie Gras/Veal Reduction and Pineapple - Uroulat 2011 Jurancon Moeulleux
